Privacy policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
Upturn is a one-person coaching practice run by Jess Romero in Chicago, Illinois (“I”, “me”). This policy explains what I collect when you use this website, book a call, download the worksheet or work with me, and what I do with it. I’ve kept it short and in plain English. If something isn’t clear, email hello@upturn.coach.
What I collect
When you book a call: your name, email, the time you pick, and anything you write in the booking questions. Booking runs on Calendly, which processes this on my behalf.
When you download the Sunday Night Audit: your email address.
When you email me: whatever you choose to send.
When you become a client: payment details (handled by my payment provider; I never see your full card number), plus the notes I keep from our sessions.
When you visit the site: basic, anonymous analytics such as pages viewed, the country you’re browsing from and the type of device. These don’t identify you personally.
How I use it
To run the call or sessions you booked, and send reminders.
To send you the worksheet you asked for.
To reply to your messages.
To take payment and keep the financial records the law requires.
To understand which pages are useful, so I can improve the site.
I don’t sell your information. I don’t share it with your employer, ever. I don’t add you to a newsletter unless you ask to join one.
Session notes and confidentiality
What you tell me in coaching stays between us. My session notes are stored privately and used only to prepare for our next session. I’ll only share anything you’ve told me if you ask me to in writing, or if I’m legally required to (for example, if I believe someone is at serious risk of harm).
Client stories on this site are published only with the client’s written permission. Names and details are changed when they ask.
Who else handles your data
I use a small number of trusted services to run the practice:
Framer, which hosts this website and its forms
Calendly, for booking
[Stripe], for payments
[Zoom / Google Meet], for video sessions
[Google Workspace], for email and storing session notes
Each of them processes data only to provide their service to me.
How long I keep it
Booking and contact details: for as long as we’re in touch, then deleted within 12 months of our last contact.
Session notes: for two years after our last session, then deleted.
Payment records: for seven years, because tax law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies needed for it to work and for anonymous analytics. The Calendly booking calendar may set its own cookies when you use it. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Your choices
You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, at any time, by emailing hello@upturn.coach. I’ll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. If you live in a state with its own privacy law, such as California, you have those rights too, and I’ll honor them the same way.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle your information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. If the change matters, I’ll email current clients.
